Emergencies
- Please call to speak with one of our staff members if you are concerned that your pet is having a medical emergency: 540-662-7811
- We cannot provide specific medical advice over the phone without seeing your pet, but can help determine the urgency with which your pet should be evaluated and provide recommendations for help you can provide your pet during transport to our facility.
- Please call prior to coming so that we can expect your arrival and be prepared in advance. With life threatening conditions, every second counts and knowing you're on your way helps us be ready to save precious time.
- If your pet has been wounded, use caution since injured and painful pets can behave unpredictably and may bite. Try to move the patient as little as possible and cover wounds with a clean towel.
- If you find a sick or wounded stray cat or dog, please call your local county Animal Control Department for transportation to our facility.
- For injured wildlife, please call Blue Ridge Wildlife Center at (540)837-9000
